USA – Day 03 – Universal Studios

Today we’re returning to Universal Studios (after the one in Osaka). We have been talking about it for a long time and Côme is impatiently looking forward to get his wand. This time around though, we’re really out of luck. There’s a storm in L.A. One of which they haven’t seen for more than 30 years. There’s usually hardly any rain here… This is a complete disaster! We haven’t told you but a few years ago, we went to the Sahara Desert for one day/night, and it happened that it also rained there on that day/night… Julia is suspecting Doo to be a black cat. As for Doo, he really doesn’t understand…

About 10 minutes in the park, we are all completely soaked already, from head to toe (despite the K-ways). So the day turns out not as pleasant as we expected it to be. It is actually very difficult and Côme will even cry for us to go back home at some point. 🙁 We will still end up riding 25 attractions, amongst which 11 times in a row the “Flight of the Hypogryph” (since nobody was there and Côme did not want to leave the ride). We will also cast a few spells with Côme’s wand (without any surprise for Julia and Doo, he chose a wand, on his own, for stubborn people). But we will leave the park 3:30 hours before it closes because we could not stand the non-stopping rain any longer… We were really unlucky!!!

Today, Côme:
Did not understand: why we had to take a giant escalator to access another part of the park. 
Learnt: that there was a very scary ride there (The Mommy).
Loved: Having his wand and The flight of the Hypogryph.

Julia:
Did not understand: why the park was divided in two parts. 
Learnt: that storms in L.A. are no joke.
Loved: to see Côme choose his wand.

Doo:
Did not understand: why there were so few seats in the restaurants. 
Learnt: that the castle was more impressive in Japan. 
Loved: to cast spells.

Burger counter: 03
